Grimes Appears to Diss Ex Elon Musk As She Flips Off Tesla

Musician Grimes appeared to have “dissed” her billionaire ex-Elon Musk in a new song—and also gave the bird to a Tesla in a video teasing the track.

Grimes—whose given name is Claire Boucher— went public with her relationship with the Tesla CEO in 2018 and they share three children. They confirmed their split in 2021, but have been engaged in a custody battle since last year, each suing the other for rights to care for their children.

The musician has also openly criticized Musk for public comments he made about his transgender daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson.

In an interview with Jordan Peterson for The Daily Wire in July, Musk referred to Wilson as his “son” was said she had been “killed by the woke mind virus,” which caused her to want to transition.

“I love and am forever endlessly proud of Vivian,” Grimes wrote on X, formerly Twitter, the social media platform purchased by Musk in 2022.

But her most recent jab at Musk came in the form of a new rap song and short video alongside comedian and musician Elijah Daniels.

The pair appeared in a short video on Daniels’ TikTok account, where they’re lip-syncing to their new song, “Nuisance.” In the teaser clip, Grimes is seen at one point flipping the bird to a white Tesla in an outdoor carpark

“Listen I know I said I was done making terrible rap music but like… who else was going to get Grimes on a rap track to diss her billionaire ex?” Daniel wrote in a caption over the video.

Grimes rapped in the snippet of the song: “I been that b****, Yeah I got the Vision/Call me Wanda,” she sang, referring to the Marvel series on Disney+ called WandaVision.

Grimes continued: “F*** a Tesla/I Like a Honda, F*** an X/ double entendre.”

Newsweek contacted Grimes’ representatives and Musk via the Tesla press contact email for comment.

The diss track comes just weeks after Grimes’ mother accused Musk of “withholding” their children from the musician.

Musk and Grimes met in court in Texas earlier this month to discuss his lawsuit against the musician— she had filed her own case against Musk in California in December.

The hearing was sealed for security reasons but disrupted by a fire alarm, which saw Musk whisked away by his security guards.

Grimes’ mom, Sandy Garossino attempted to reach Musk in a series of posts on X in July where she asked with a “grandmother’s plea” to allow the three children to visit her mother who was in palliative care.

“She was thrilled for the kids’ planned visit to celebrate her birthday this weekend. Today. But those hopes were crushed when the trip was canceled,” Garossino wrote on X.

“I am alarmed to learn that the children cannot come as you are withholding them and their needed passport documents from Claire,” she added, using Grimes’ given name.

“I write with a grandmother’s plea, asking you to honour your agreement, return the children, and provide the documents they need to see their great grandmother before she passes.”

Musk has a total of 12 children with three women, including his ex-wife Justine Wilson and Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis.
