Nyangani High School Student Killed, Fifteen Others Injured in a Kombi Accident
In a tragic development, a Nyangani High School student was killed, and fifteen other students were injured when their school kombi was involved in a fatal road accident.
The accident occurred at the 62-kilometre mark along Mutare-Juliasdale Road and involved a Toyota Hiace kombi carrying 19 students.

Police Confirm School Kombi Accident
In a statement, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed the fatal kombi accident which occurred yesterday, 7 November 2024.
“The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident involving students from Nyangani High School, which occurred on 07/11/24 at the 62-kilometre peg along Mutare-Juliasdale Road.”

One Student Loses Life, Multiple Injured
According to the police report, the school kombi veered off the road, overturned, and landed on its side.
The accident resulted in the tragic death of one student, while fifteen others sustained various injuries.
“A student was killed while fifteen others were injured when a school Toyota Hiace kombi with 19 passengers on board veered off the road and overturned before landing on its side.”
Victim and Injured Students Admitted to Local Hospitals
Following the accident, the deceased student’s body was transported to Bonda Mission Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, those who suffered injuries were rushed to Bonda Mission Hospital and Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.
