WATCH: The Horrible Moment When Speeding Mshikashika Crashed Into Service Station

Caught on CCTV: Speeding Mshikashika Taxi Crashes at Service Station

A shocking incident involving a speeding pirate taxi, commonly known as a mshikashika, has left Zimbabwean social media abuzz. The vehicle, believed to be a white Toyota ProBox, crashed into an Engen Fuel Service Station in Murombedzi, Zvimba. The crash, captured on CCTV, has sparked widespread reactions online.

High-Speed Chaos Caught on Camera

In the viral video, the mshikashika appears at the top left corner of the screen, moving at an alarming speed. Initially, it seems to be drifting in a controlled manner, but events quickly spiral out of control. The car veers off its path, colliding with a fuel pump and bringing it down. The impact abruptly halts the vehicle.

Moments later, the driver—wearing a red top—emerges from the car, inspecting the damage. Surprisingly, his immediate focus is not on the passenger, who exits the car limping and seemingly in pain.

The scene takes an even stranger turn when another vehicle parked nearby abruptly speeds away after the crash. Passers-by gather to assess the damage as the clip ends.

Social Media Reacts

The dramatic footage has drawn strong reactions online, with users offering varied takes on the incident.

“Why is he looking at the pole as though it suddenly appeared from nowhere?” wrote Twisha (@Trish_Maliro).

Others were critical of the driver’s priorities. Nyabeer (@NyaBeer263) commented, “Dude is more worried about his $700 car and pretty much ignores the passenger who limped there.”

Some speculated on the driver’s intent. “Seems to be a failed attempt at drifting. I bet there was a bet that he would slide it besides the pump perfectly,” observed Tendai (@TendaiNyamaropa).

The near-miss involving pedestrians also drew attention. Menziwokuhle (@Menzikandlovu) remarked, “Running over those two could have had dire consequences for everyone.”

Amid the serious observations, some users found humour in the bizarre scene. “Village people sending their birds to check on that ‘recent import’ you posted on your status,” quipped Gray Kuwana Mthandazo (@Graynator).

A Close Call

The accident could have been far worse, with pedestrians narrowly escaping harm.
