The Golden State Warriors travel to the Toyota Center to take on the Houston Rockets in Game 5 of the first round of the NBA Playoffs, with the Warriors holding a commanding 3-1 lead and the Rockets looking to extend the series.

After winning one of two at home to start the series, the Rockets went on the road with hopes of stealing home-court advantage back. They had a golden opportunity in Game 3, holding a lead going to the fourth quarter against the Jimmy Butler-less Warriors, but championship mettle ultimately overcame youthful exuberance.

In Game 4, the Rockets again found themselves with a chance, tied 104-104 with 1:20 left in the game. Butler would make five free throws in the final minute, and a Fred VanVleet 3-point miss at the buzzer resulted in a 109-106 loss and a 3-1 deficit heading back home.

For the Warriors, this has been a perfect example of how the best player in a series can overcome a better overall team. On paper, the Rockets are deeper and younger, but they lack the presence of Stephen Curry. Through the first four games of the series, the 36-year-old Curry leads all players in points scored (104), assists (24), and threes (16), all with a sparkling shooting line of .514/.410/.941.

What’s even scarier for the opposition is that in Game 4, Curry was able to sit back and play decoy for much of the second half, as Butler (23 second-half points) and Brandin Podziemski (13 second-half points) carried the load.

This is a great NBA matchup that will not disappoint; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
